Fishing is a popular recreational pastime in Green Head that allows people to spend time on the water with family and friends and to get in touch with the natural world. This means that the waters off Green Head offer many exciting and different fishing opportunities in a well-regulated and monitored system of zoning areas, including marine parks.
As well as observing fishing regulations, it is important that those who fish adopt responsible fishing practices while out on the water. These practices help reduce impacts on the natural environment, maintain the ecological balance of the area and minimise harm to fish.
More information on the Western Australian fishing regulations can be found at http://www.fish.wa.gov.au/Pages/Home.aspx
Green Head offers both beach and offshore fishing. Offshore, we are famous for our crayfish, dhufish, pink snapper and baldchin gropers while on the beach there are many great catches including whiting, herring, taylor, squid and mulloway.
